Tumeric Milk

I love this! Try it and see how you like it!  Great for fighting colds or flu’s. Search “tumeric milk” on Pinterest for more ideas and variations.

You will need:

fresh ginger root

fresh tumeric root

cinnamon stick ( or powder)

peppercorns

honey

milk

water

a pot

a grater

a strainer

about 10 minutes of your time!

Instructions: Peel and grate the tumeric and ginger into a pot, add cinnamon, peppercorns, honey, water and milk.

Put on stove over med heat, bring to boil, simmer (any length of time) and then strain and enjoy. Adjust the ratio’s to suit your taste. Sometimes I add coconut oil to the mixture to richen it up and add some extra goodness. Milk or any milk substitute should work. I found the tumeric root at Calvins (Scott Road and 64th) as well as at Surrey Farms ( Hwy 10 and 168 St). I also save all the ginger etc after straining, add more milk and water and reboil a couple times. I have also put it into a jar overnight and drank it cold. ALL GOOD.

Enjoy, Shannon
